A backup of a site is a copy of its content, that's kept on some other server and could be restored if something happens. This feature is very useful, given that you can't know if a script update won't fail or if you won't eliminate something unintentionally - a file, a folder, a database entry, etcetera. When your website is backed up, it can be restored the way it was until the issue appeared, so there shall not be any damage, or at least it will be small, based on the particular situation. Keeping backups on your PC is not very feasible, since you'll have to do it at least once a day and you can still lose info in case your last backup is not recent enough. In this light, you'll need to rely on your web hosting provider, so you must double-check their policy on the backups, as some companies generate backups just once each week, which will do no good if something wrong happens with a website that is being used and updated constantly, like an online store, for example.

Daily Data Back-up in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our system creates a full data backup of the files and databases in every single semi-dedicated server account produced on our cutting-edge hosting platform, so when you host your sites with us, you will never have to worry about data loss, especially having in mind that the backups are generated no less than four times every day and are kept a minimum of 1 week. Restoring the content normally takes only a couple of minutes and may be done in 2 ways. The first one is to send a support ticket with this request, suggesting from which specific date you would like the backup to be restored. The other way is to restore the content by yourself, since the backups are available inside the File Manager section of the CP and you may examine them freely to see what every single folder contains. All it will require to restore a backup is to copy the contents of the backup folder to the domain folder. You shall be able to see the timestamp for each and every backup within the account, so you can select the one you need.
